 Welcome to Shatteredpond Academy, a school for High School and Middle School students around New Jersey. Some come from the other side of the state to study here. No students from other stats are accepted, so there is no need to go crazy if someone were to mispronounce your beloved state’s name and say Joisey.
Shatteredpond is in the middle of the woods of West Milford, New Jersey, a ‘small town’ in one of New Jersey’s highest points. The town was struggling with the economy, and needed to find a way out. Nobody really know who first proposed the idea of Shatteredpond, but everybody loved it. Well, those lucky enough to find out about it.
The Everyday people of West Milford knew nothing about the plan. And, with rumors from the students who lived in ‘UGL’ spreading around the schools about a building being built in the forests. No one knew if it was true or not. That was, until a notice when home with all of the students in the 8th-12th grades. Every teenager around New Jersey got the same notice.
Teenagers poured in from all over the state. Friend, enemies, and lovers alike came to study here. But, things started to happen. Three months after opening, a girl went missing. She just vanished. None of her friend knew what happened, just that she went for a walk for a bit. The West Milford police were involved, and when they couldn’t find her, the state police. Two weeks after she went missing, the police found her about a mile into the forest just before Clinton Road, the very well known haunted road.
The girl’s parents were notified. Rumors spread all about Shatteredpond. One person said that the KKK was involved, it was well known that they liked to hang out by Clinton Road. Another said that she just died because of starvation. But, starvation doesn’t cause stab wounds, does it?
Shatteredpond was very close to being shut down, but it remained open. No one has disappeared since, but some say they still see her ghost wandering the corridors, going from classroom to classroom. One thing is certain, though. Weird things happen in Room 102, the girl’s bedroom. Anyone who gets that room is plagued with odd happenings, and mysterious scrapes.
Do not let the past of Shatteredpond deter you, though. It is nearly fully recovered. A new wave of students have rolled in, replacing the old ones. The ones who were friends with the poor girl who disappeared that one fateful day.
Be wary if you stray from the grounds, though. It is not safe out there. You never know what's lurking with Northern Despair.
